Using HandBrake to Convert Video
Once you download and install HandBrake, you’ll see the main interface where you can choose the video (Source) and the output format (Presets).

If you have not used HandBrake before, you will need to choose a destination for the converted file. By default, videos will be converted to MP4 format using the H.264 codec. You can see the progress at the bottom of the HandBrake window.
Your file is now ready to be transferred over to your iPad using iTunes. If you want to convert videos for your iPhone, follow the same steps, just choose iPhone from the presets. If you are more technically-savvy, you can also click on the tabs and manually adjust settings to your liking.
Copy File to Device using iTunes
In iTunes, click on the icon for your device at the top. After clicking on it, you will be taken to a screen that looks like this: Now click on the blue arrow in the bottom right corner of this screen and select “Convert to iPad or iPhone.” This will take you to a new page where you will have to enter your Apple ID and password. After doing so, your device will be connected and ready to convert the video.
Now you will see a list of movies that are playing on your device.
To watch a movie on your computer, open Explorer and find the video you want to watch. Once you have it, just drag and drop it onto the right hand side of the screen under Movies. ..

If you have an iPad and have synced any movies manually, you will see a new tab called Home Videos in the Videos app. This tab will show all of the movies that you have synced yourself.
