Facebook Gaming Brings Tournaments
Well, Facebook has also decided to come forward and try to make this boring time, a little bit interesting. Facebook has enabled gaming tournaments which is a feature of Facebook Gaming that allows users to organize a gaming competition. It is meant to promote eSports but now it is also helpful in maintaining social distancing. Users can have some competitive tournaments while maintaining that social distancing. You can set up and organize a tournament on Facebook. Very simple just go to the “Create tournament event” option in Facebook Gaming. Facebook also announced on Twitter that users can also organize charity tournament events as they now support that with their live streaming tools. Tournaments are open to everyone. Tournaments is also a part to support the WHO’s Plat Apart Together campaign, to create social engagements over gaming. Speaking to VentureBeat, Mina Abouseif, the main engineer behind Tournaments said: “Our mission for Facebook gaming is to build the world’s gaming community and organized gameplay has always been a big part of gaming, regardless of levels of competition… Whether it’s someone getting together with family and friends or whether it’s a creator of a tournament for viewers or supporters, or whether it’s an esports organization, this is a big part of gaming.” Facebook’s original mission was to create a platform for eSports and boost its platform but the current situation promoted then to roll out the feature a little early. Facebook is working on this feature for a while now and trying to make its Gaming platform a good and top space for streaming of eSports. Facebook has also signed some streamers for the same and Tournaments is going to be the next big thing for Facebook Gaming.
