Google is expected to launch a new Pixel phone in the next few months. The camera should be in focus, and we expect similar timelines this year too. A September launch has been hinted at a couple of times, meaning that the iPhone 12 and this year’s other iPhones will arrive before the Pixel 5.
Google Pixel 5 Design & Specs
The Pixel 5 is Google’s smaller and more compact phone, which is why it fits well into the category of phones that Google calls “smaller and more compact.” The dimensions of the Pixel 5 are going to be approximately 144.6mm long, 70.4mm wide and 8mm thick. If you include the camera bump on the rear, the phone will come to a total length of 158.4mm. This makes it similar in terms of dimensions to the iPhone XS and slightly smaller than the iPhone 11.
The Google Pixel 4 and 4a XL were leaked by us earlier this year and we think they look almost identical to the Google Pixel 4. The only difference is that the Google Pixel 4a XL has a black bezel on the front and rounded edges, which makes it look more contemporary.
The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is square-shaped and matches the cameras. You’ll see the USB Type-C port on the rock bottom of the phone, with the peculiar Pixel speaker grilles that appear as if cutouts. The sides and back of the phone may need different materials, consistent with CADs. Just like Pixel 4, Pixel 5 will have aluminum sides and a glass back too. We’ll be updating this as more details emerge. ..
Google is expected to release a new phone this year with two rear-facing cameras and a front-facing camera. This phone will likely have many of the same features as past Google Pixel phones, including robust camera performance. ..
